“Developing Search Applications With Solr” is a three-day, instructor-led, hands-on classroom training course designed and developed by the engineers that helped write the Apache Lucene/Solr code. It is delivered by instructors certified by Lucid Imagination.
This course will provide students with the in-depth information to implement Solr search engine technologies. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on lab exercises, and example tutorials students will learn best practices for developing scalable, high-availability and high-performance search applications. There will be time for questions and discussion to enhance the learning experience. At the end of the course, students will understand how to set up and use Solr to index and search; how to analyze and solve common problems; and how to use optional Solr modules such as facets, spell check, and highlighting.
Some programming skills and experience with a modern programming language such as Java, PHP, perl, Ruby, .NET, or any language that supports HTTP and/or XML. Some experience with system administration.
The lectures will be given in English by a Lucid Imagination-certified software engineer currently working in the industry.
Instructor-led lectures will be accompanied by hands-on lab exercises, examples, and tutorials.

Time: 9:30-17:30, daily (The first day starts at 9:45.)
Location: Basis Technology K.K., 9-6 Nibancho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan (Closest stations are Kojimachi Station, Hanzomon Station, and Yotsuya Station.)
Required equipment: For use during the course, students should bring a USB stick and an Internet-ready laptop loaded with Java 6 (Java 5 is also acceptable), and running Windows XP or higher or MacOS Leopard or higher.
